Effective Publisher: Unit Labs
What this covers
Dotwell is an offline falling-block puzzle for Android, published by Unit Labs on Google Play. This page explains what the game uses and why. It adds detail to the Unit Labs privacy notice. Where the two differ for Dotwell, this page applies.
Summary
- No ads, and no advertising networks.
- No analytics tools in the game.
- No Dotwell account server. Your progress stays on your phone.
- The game does not ask for your name, email, phone number, or card details.
- Google Play handles purchases. Play Games sign-in is optional.
- Unit Labs does not sell personal data.
On your device
The game stores your settings and progress in its own storage on your phone. That includes controls, sound, haptics, and theme, high scores and lifetime counters, daily streak, campaign unlocks and stars, an optional Marathon resume, the Dotwell Plus unlock flag, and an optional Play Games preference with a short queue of scores waiting to sync.
Some of that progress is checked on the phone so a casual edit of the save does not count. That check stays on the device. This data does not leave your phone. Device backup is turned off for Dotwell, so a phone backup or transfer does not carry the save to another device.
Dotwell Plus purchases
Dotwell Plus is an optional one-time purchase processed by Google Play. Google handles the payment and your payment details under the Google privacy policy. The game receives only the purchase status it needs to unlock Plus. Unit Labs never sees your card number.
Play Games
If you sign in to Play Games, Google processes your Play Games profile, achievements, and leaderboard scores under its own policies. Your gamer name and scores can be visible to other players on a leaderboard, according to your Play Games settings. Sign-in is optional, and the game is fully playable offline without it.
Permissions
- Vibrate for haptic feedback during play.
- Billing for the Dotwell Plus purchase through Google Play.
Who else receives data
Google receives purchase data when you buy Dotwell Plus, and Play Games data when you sign in. Google acts under its own policies for that data. Unit Labs does not share or sell your data to anyone else, and does not receive your progress. We can disclose information we hold if the law requires it.
Children
Dotwell is not directed at children under 13. If you are under the age of digital consent where you live, use it only with a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has emailed us, write to us and we will delete that message.
Keeping and deleting
Data on your phone stays until you clear the game's storage or uninstall it. Either one deletes it at once. Google can keep Play Games and purchase records under its own retention policies. If you email us, we keep that message only as long as we need to help you, and we delete it within 30 days of a verified request. The steps are on the deletion page.
Your rights
Where the law gives them, you can ask what personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. For Dotwell, that is usually only a support email. The full list of rights is in the Unit Labs privacy notice.
Changes
We update this page when the game changes. The date at the top changes when we do. For a material change, we will say so on this page.
